SOFTWARE

Dropbox

Uploading files

USE CASE

What You’ll Do
Desktop App

  • This is a better way to upload, it goes uninterrupted even if your internet goes down. Good for huge files. But it does require your computers main drive to have enough space.

1. Download the desktop app - Link

2. Log in to the account - Ask for log in on slack - @Mishka D. Select online-only (this will keep all dropbox files off your computer).
3. It will take some time for it to sync.
4. In your desktop app find the folder called “Files uploaded here” and find the folder of the wedding you shot.

5. Inside the corresponding folder to the wedding you shot, create a folder with your name, and state total size of the folder, so our editing manager can check that all files were uploaded.
6. Once done uploading, right click the folder and select (online only). This will remove the files from your computer, keeping them in dropbox.
7. Notify our editing manager in a slack channel called #uploads_shooters (you can right click and star the channel for convenience). Following this format - 7.30.22 Obehi + Mathew video upload complete

Alternative Way
Web browser

  • This is an option if you don’t have enough storage on your computer, or you have a personal dropbox. You might have to upload in parts.

 1. Go to dropbox.com

 2. Log in to the account - Ask for log in on slack - @Mishka D. Select online-only (this will keep all dropbox files off your computer).

 3. Find the folder called “Files uploaded here” and find the folder of the wedding you shot.

 4. Inside the corresponding folder to the wedding you shot, create a folder with your name, and state total size of the folder, so our editing manager can check that all files were uploaded.

 5. If you have shot a lot, and your internet is not over 200mb/s (speedtest.com to check), you should breakdown the footage into parts.

 6. When finished uploading, go through the list and double check that all of the files were uploaded. As sometimes there can be errors.

 7. Notify our editing manager in a slack channel called #uploads_shooters (you can right click and star the channel for convenience). Following this format - 7.30.22 Obehi + Mathew video upload completed.
